10 Days – Zimbabwe Grand Safari Adventure
Zimbabwe offers one of Africa’s most authentic and guiding-focused safari experiences. The country combines the thunder of Victoria Falls, the vast elephant herds of Hwange National Park, and the raw, untamed wilderness of Mana Pools National Park along the Zambezi River. Fewer crowds, highly trained guides, and diverse ecosystems define the experience.
This 10-day Zimbabwe Grand Safari Adventure moves logically from the iconic spectacle of Victoria Falls into prime Big Five territory in Hwange and concludes with immersive walking and canoe safaris in Mana Pools. The journey emphasizes depth, expert guiding, and varied wildlife encounters across riverine forests, floodplains, and open savannah.

Day 1: Arrival in Victoria Falls
Arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport and transfer to your lodge in Victoria Falls. The afternoon allows time to settle into the relaxed atmosphere of this historic safari gateway town.
You may enjoy a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, where hippos surface quietly and elephants approach the riverbanks as the sky turns gold.

Day 2: Explore Victoria Falls
Today focuses on exploring the mighty Victoria Falls. A guided tour through the rainforest reveals multiple viewpoints along the escarpment as the Zambezi River plunges dramatically into the gorge below. The mist rises high above the canyon, creating rainbows and a constant roar that gives the falls their local name, Mosi-oa-Tunya.
The afternoon offers optional activities such as helicopter scenic flights, cultural village visits, or continued relaxation along the Zambezi River.
Overnight Stay: Lodge in Victoria Falls
Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast
Day 3: Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park
After breakfast, you transfer by road to Hwange National Park. The landscape transitions from riverine forest to open woodland and grassland.
An afternoon game drive introduces Hwange’s wildlife, particularly its large elephant populations. Seasonal waterholes attract diverse species including buffalo, zebra, giraffe, and predators.
Overnight Stay: Safari lodge or tented camp in Hwange
Meal Plan: Full Board
Day 4: Full Day in Hwange National Park
A full safari day allows in-depth exploration of Hwange. Morning drives focus on predator activity when lions and wild dogs are most active. Hwange’s open terrain and pumped waterholes create reliable wildlife viewing, particularly during the dry season.
The afternoon drive explores quieter sectors of the park, where cheetahs patrol open plains and large elephant herds gather at water sources.
Overnight Stay: Safari lodge or tented camp in Hwange
Meal Plan: Full Board
Day 5: Hwange Safari Experience
Another full day in Hwange offers flexibility to explore different regions of the park. You may track wild dogs, observe lion prides, or spend extended time at productive waterholes.
Zimbabwe’s guiding standards emphasize interpretation and understanding of animal behavior, making sightings both educational and immersive.
Overnight Stay: Safari lodge or tented camp in Hwange
Meal Plan: Full Board
Day 6: Hwange to Mana Pools National Park
After breakfast, you transfer to Mana Pools National Park by light aircraft or road and air combination. As you approach the Zambezi Valley, the scenery changes dramatically to riverine forest and open floodplains.
Upon arrival, you settle into your tented camp along the Zambezi River before an introductory afternoon game drive. Mana Pools is known for its raw wilderness and low vehicle density.

Meal Plan: Full Board
Day 7: Walking Safari in Mana Pools
Today introduces one of Zimbabwe’s signature experiences: guided walking safaris. Accompanied by an armed professional guide, you explore the floodplains on foot, tracking elephants, observing birdlife, and learning about smaller species and plant ecology.
The afternoon game drive along the Zambezi River may reveal large bull elephants feeding upright from winterthorn trees, as well as lions and buffalo moving across open plains.
Overnight Stay: Tented safari camp in Mana Pools

The afternoon remains flexible for additional game drives or relaxation at camp overlooking the river.

Day 9: Final Mana Pools Exploration
Your final full safari day combines riverine drives and open floodplain exploration. Mana Pools’ combination of water, forest, and open ground attracts diverse wildlife, including leopard and African wild dog.
