3 Days – Chobe National Park Elephant Safari
Northern Botswana’s Chobe National Park is world-renowned for hosting one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa. Along the fertile banks of the Chobe River, hundreds of elephants gather daily to drink, bathe, and cross between islands. The combination of land-based game drives and river safaris makes Chobe one of the most dynamic short safari destinations in Southern Africa.
This 3-day Elephant Safari focuses on the Chobe Riverfront, the park’s most wildlife-dense region. The itinerary blends classic 4x4 game drives with boat cruises that bring you eye-level with swimming elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and buffalo herds. The short duration makes it ideal as a stand-alone safari or as an extension from Victoria Falls.

Day By Day Details Of 3 Days – Chobe National Park Elephant Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kasane – Afternoon River Safari
Arrival at Kasane Airport where you are met and transferred to your lodge overlooking the Chobe River. After settling in and enjoying lunch, you head out for your first safari experience — a boat cruise along the Chobe River.
The river safari offers a unique perspective unavailable on traditional game drives. Large elephant herds gather along the shoreline, often crossing between river islands. You observe them swimming with trunks raised like snorkels while hippos surface nearby and crocodiles bask on sandy banks. The afternoon light reflects beautifully across the water, creating exceptional photographic conditions.

Day 2: Full Day Chobe Game Drives and River Experience
An early morning game drive begins as the park comes alive with activity. Lions often patrol riverfront woodland while buffalo herds move between grazing grounds and water sources. Chobe’s elephant population dominates the landscape, with families and solitary bulls moving steadily across open plains.
Midday rest at the lodge allows relaxation before returning to the river for a second afternoon boat safari or an additional game drive depending on wildlife movement. The Chobe Riverfront consistently delivers diverse sightings due to its permanent water supply.
As the sun sets, silhouettes of elephants against golden skies define the Chobe experience.
