Day By Day Details Of 6 Days – Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pan Safari
Day 1: Travel to Makgadikgadi after arriving in Maun
Arrival at Maun Airport followed by road or light aircraft transfer to the Makgadikgadi region. As you approach the pans, the landscape opens dramatically into endless white flats broken by distant palm islands.
After check-in, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the fringes of the pans. Depending on the season, zebra and wildebeest may gather in impressive numbers, particularly during the green season when grass regenerates.
Sunset over the salt flats creates one of Botswana’s most photogenic scenes, with vast skies shifting from gold to deep violet.

Day 2: Makgadikgadi Pans Exploration & Meerkat Encounter
An early departure allows exploration of the open pans while temperatures remain cool. During the dry season, the surface appears like a white lunar landscape. In wetter months, shallow water attracts flamingos and migratory birds.
A highlight of the region is interaction with habituated meerkat colonies. Sitting quietly as these curious animals forage nearby provides a uniquely intimate wildlife encounter.

Day 3: Transfer to Nxai Pan National Park

Arrive at your lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Nxai Pan is particularly known for large zebra herds during seasonal migration, along with giraffe, springbok, and elephant.

Day 4: Baines’ Baobabs & Full-Day Safari
